  What equipment do you need a gym for?

We have tried over the years to slowly accumulate the equipment needed for strength training and cardio. But it always seems like there is "one more" machine that we need to get.

Currently I still have a gym membership, and will usually go once a week for leg day. I need a leg extension machine, and leg curl machine, but we are out of room.

Just wondering what you all NEED that the gym has that you would like to get at home.

Sooo.. we've run into a bit of a problem on our home gym pulley machine.

We have a life fitness G7. It's been great, have had it for 7+ years and really no problems. However, I've maxed out the weight stack and need to increase it.

I called the dealer, and LifeFitness doesn't make any way to add on weight. I was toying around with making my own device to hook onto the weight stack so I could add plates on. And lo and behold I found one that someone had already made on ebay.

If that link doesn't work, go to ebay and search "Powerlifting weight stack plate holder"  It's basically a J hook (flat) that hangs on your weight stack and you can put up to three weight plates on it. I've been using it since Christmas and it works like a champ! I've added up to 90lbs on it, and the Lifefitness G7 runs as smooth as ever.

  Smith Machine Help

Ok Guys, couple of questions.

As you can see in the pictures, I have a Parabody Smith Machine (I think they are owned by life fitness)

At any rate, I was thinking of selling it to buy a squat rack or power cage. But.. I think I have seen safety bars that you can attached for the front of the smith machine. Basically you can adjust them up or down, and they fit in the holes on the back, but wrap around the front.

I've tried looking online to see if I can find them anywhere for sale, but I'm coming up blank. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, or where I could order these please let me know.

I think it would be an easy and much cheaper fix than selling this and getting a power rack.

I had a slice of watermelon, 4 raspberries, 2 blackberries, and 1/2 a banana. Am I eating too much? Too little? Or enough? Please note, I did not any pastries or any other food items that contain added sugars.

This is a great place to be!
I joined here so that I can learn more about home gyms. I am currently working on my own. It's small for now but it will get bigger and better equipped soon I hope. 
It would be great to hear some workout advices from you guys because I just recently started with working out and have so much to learn.

I wonder what are your pros about having a home gym?
For me, the biggest pro is saving time  that I would loose while I go to the gym and get back home.
Also, I can work out here only with my closest friends (and don't have to share everything with random people) Big Grin

This of course is a very good thing, because if you can feel good while working out and then have more stamina, energy and a positive attitude throughout the day, well what could be better than that? While everyone else is getting fat, you got it all and you deserve it too. Think on these facts next time you work out.
